Going Above and Beyond: Darryl Chamberlain

The Atlas Family is populated with associates who – day in and day out – do their jobs extremely well and are also committed to doing far more to improve their communities at large – via their actions and incredible character.

The Atlas Hero Award was established in 2020 to honor a member of the Atlas Family doing just that – going above and beyond their day job in service to the community.

The 2024 honoree, Darryl Chamberlain, has made it his mission to bring music to students in Kansas City.

He founded the A-Flat Youth Orchestra and the A-Flat Music Studio Inc. to help fill the gap created by the lack of school-sponsored music programs after learning of the elimination of instrumental music programs in many city schools. The A-Flat Music Studio provides instrumental music instruction for students in Kansas City for a very affordable cost and is the developing agency for The A-Flat Youth Orchestra. Darryl estimates that he has served about 400 students since the Music Studio opened its doors.
